Greenwich Village Chelsea Chamber of Commerce Presents ALL IN CHELSEA
A Special Campaign Highlighting Chelsea’s Business Community

CHELSEA, NY, OCT.2020 - The Greenwich Village Chelsea Chamber of Commerce aims to reinvigorate business in Chelsea following the hard times caused by the global COVID-19 Pandemic. The campaign; All In Chelsea is part of  NYC & Company's, city-wide, All In NYC campaign. Businesses will provide incentives, deals and promotions for however long they choose to encourage residents of Chelsea and tourists alike to shop at their stores and witness the diversity of the Chelsea community in order to bring commerce back. The promotional campaign will last through the month of October but businesses are free to offer their deals for as long as they feel comfortable.

The chamber’s initiative will offer benefits to the existing businesses in Chelsea as well as provide a platform for them to get their name out and attract new customers. These deals will be posted on the campaign’s social media, website, and posters and signs all around Chelsea. In addition, Mastercard® will support the All In NYC program through a robust digital media campaign as well as a compelling statement credit offer for participating businesses that accept Mastercard®.

Customers who partake in this project are able to take advantage of special offers in galleries, restaurants, stores, and more while supporting local businesses and the neighborhood economy. Visitors will preserve the culture of Chelsea all while attending a fun neighborhood project with friends and family. Sponsors of All In Chelsea include the Chelsea Market and Lyft who will offer free rides up to a certain value to customers wishing to travel to the neighborhood!

“We are excited to put this project together. Working together with City Council Speaker Corey Johnson’s office and the Council of Chelsea Block Associations [CCBA] will help spread the message that Chelsea bands together when times are challenging” Says Maria Diaz, Executive Director of the Chamber. “Our business owners are trying all they can to stay afloat. And we hope that programs like this, and sound policy making that address the times, will allow businesses to succeed.”

The Chelsea community has shown unity in supporting the campaign. NYC Council Speaker Corey Johnson states that “supporting our local mom-and-pop businesses has never been more important. I encourage everyone to participate in "All in Chelsea" to take advantage of these discounts all while supporting our local businesses. I want to thank the Greenwich Village Chelsea Chamber of Commerce for organizing this important event and all the participating businesses and local organizations supporting this initiative."

“Escalating rents were already wreaking havoc on many of our Mom and Pop shops. But now the coronavirus epidemic and its economic fallout has been disastrous, for our restaurants and stores both large and small.” shares Save Chelsea’s President, Laurence Froomer. “As president of Save Chelsea, I wholeheartedly offer our organization’s endorsement of the All In One effort in October to promote, protect, and save our neighborhood’s surviving businesses. Please come out to save the economy, diversity, and financial health of our neighborhood.”

Last, but not least, Omar Fattal, member of the 200 W23W24 BA Board, voices that “Chelsea is home for me and it breaks my heart to see the neighborhood deteriorate and to see businesses on my block suffer one blow after another. The businesses have been resilient though and are fighting to stay open. Working on this campaign is my way of telling these businesses that the 200 W23W24 Block Association is right there with them and that together we will help Chelsea get back on its feet.
